Spring Dell Center 24th Annual Auction

Spring Dell Center has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities for 50 years, twenty-three of those years including a successful auction and dinner that has provided resources for various programs provided by the agency. On Friday, November 17th, the organization will hold its largest annual fundraiser including a live and silent auction with dinner at the Jaycees Center in Waldorf, MD. The “Cheers to 50 Years” themed event will include over 200 items such as golf packages, antiques, event tickets, sports memorabilia, trips and help bring an end to our 2017 50-year celebration. At the conclusion of last year’s event, we exceeded expectations; generating approximately $60,000 that will be used to enhance current programs. This marks the largest amount raised during the event since its start in 1998. The generosity shown by our sponsors, participants and donors left committee members overwhelmed. Join over 400 guests as they enjoy a delicious dinner and bid on over 200 items in the silent and live auctions. It will be a sight to see. We look forward to a very diverse crowd at every auction including family members of staff and the people we support, to the most prominent business persons in our community. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Golden Tickets are $50, and enter you in a chance to select the item of your choice from the live or silent auction before the auction begins. Only 50 tickets are sold and if you are the lucky winner, whatever item you choose is yours to take home! There are also opportunities to sponsor and place ads in our auction brochure. Funds from the event support programs for individuals with disabilities that are not funded by the state. Past projects supported by the auction include; fitness training provided by local gyms, adaptive equipment expanding the Movement and Wellness program, as well as handicapped accessible vehicles used at the agency's residential homes. A Bit of History

It was 1993, a new idea was born when Spring Dell Center held its first Annual Benefit Auction. The auction was held at the Waldorf Elks Lodge, 100 people attended and $9,000 was raised for the center. My how we have grown! Our 2012 auction brought out 300+ people and brought approximately $42,000 into our agency. The evening includes many sponsors, including the Greater Waldorf Jaycees who host the evening.The planning for the auction never stops. From one year to the next the items for the event are collected and cataloged waiting for the auction in November.

The success of the auction depends on quality donations from the community. We collect items year-round to assure our auction attendees have an evening of exciting quality items to bid on. Professional auctioneer Clark Carr and entertainment provided by Byx Bullocks of Bullocks Music make the auction even more enjoyable.
